Nicolas Baudouin began his duties as the Consul General of France in Vancouver in September 2021. His jurisdiction comprises of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

Following higher education studies in Political Science and in Chinese, Nicolas Baudouin joined France’s diplomatic and consular network with a first experience as an International volunteer in an administration (VIA) at the Embassy of France in Vietnam’s Cultural Affairs section from 2001 to 2002. In 2004, he joined the French diplomatic service, starting to work in the International Cooperation and Development Department. He then joined the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for three years until 2009 before being posted to the European External Action Service’s European Economic and Trade Office in Taipei, between 2009 and 2012. After that, he returned to the diplomatic and consular network at the French Embassy in Phnom Penh, as First Secretary and Spokesperson until 2016. Back in Paris, he was assigned to the United Nations and International Organizations Department, as a desk officer and then Head of the Economic and Global affairs’ office. From 2017 to 2021, he became and advisor for the Secretary general of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

He started as the Consul General of France in Vancouver on September 1, 2021.

He is married and has two daughters.
