French author Abdellah Taïa was invited to give a reading at the Vancouver International Writers Festival on October 24, 2013. The French writer, Moroccan-born, read English extracts of his first book, translated from French, entitled ’Salvation Army’, which he has adapted into a film. His film was recently screened in Venice and at the film festival in Toronto. In this video filmed by Consulate General of France in Vancouver, the author who was born in 1973 in Morocco, explains why he chose in 1997 to live in Paris.
