“I never thought I’d make it”
The Consul General Mr. Jean-Christophe Fleury bestowed the Legion of Honour award to Mr. Len Higg on his 100th birthday on December 13th, 2016, in Steveston, BC.
Rigg was among those who survived the D-Day landings on the beaches of Arromanches-les-Bains, Normandy, France during the Second World War.
The Legion of Honor distinction illustrates the profound gratitude that France would like to express to the men who fought for the country. It is awarded in recognition of personal involvement in the liberation of France during World War II. It aims at remembering the sacrifice of all of those who came to liberate the French soil.
