French Ambassador’s visit to Vancouver for the Globe Series [fr]
Ambassador Kareen Rispal visited Vancouver on February 11 and 12 to attend the Globe Series, where she was a speaker at two events, and for a series of meetings.
Along with European partners, Ambassador Rispal presented the European Union Green Deal which aims is to reach a Climate-Neutral EU by 2050, centered on the circular economy.

Ambassador Rispal reminded that France is highly invested in raising the COP21 commitments and in fighting climate change thanks to energy transition.
To discuss goals and cooperations, she met with :
Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Jonathan Wilkinson;
Companies CEOs and representatives such as General Fusion, Schneider Electric and Air Liquide Canada;
And non-profit organisations WWF Canada and Ocean Wise as stakeholders involved in the protection of biodiversity, a priority for France.
During her visit, Ambassador Rispal also met with the French business community from the Greater Vancouver to exchange about their projects. There are several companies making a great impact on the local economy, in many sectors.
Lastly, Ambassador Rispal bestowed the insignia of Knight of Arts et Lettres upon artist Susan Point for her cultural and artistic involvement for the benefits of First Nations communities, in particular women.
This visit allowed the strengthening of bilateral cooperations in the fight against climate change; the development of partnerships, in particular in the fields of innovation and green technologies; and the continuation of efforts made during the G7 Charlevoix and G7 Biarritz summits, under Canadian and French presidencies.
