31st annual edition of Concours d’art oratoire, Canadian Parents for French
Jean-Christophe Fleury, Consul General of France in Vancouver, inaugurated on Saturday, 3rd of May, the 31st annual edition of Concours d’Art oratoire organized by Canadian Parents for French - B.C. & Yukon.
More than 300 attendants came to support the participants at Simon Fraser university in Surrey. The aim of this public speaking contest is to stimulate the interest of students learning French, to improve their oral skills, and to give them experience speaking in public.
After the inauguration, the Consul General discussed along with the members of the Board of Directors of Canadian Parents for French - BC & Yukon on the success of French immersion program, especially in British Columbia and the difficulties yet encountered by the parents who want to enroll their children.
