  • Which French economic achievements in BC?

    In this video, made during the celebration of thirty years of the French Chamber of Commerce of BC, Consul General of France in Vancouver lists the French economic achievements in British Columbia. British Columbia is home to branches of 50 French companies, including six headquarter locations. In the manufacturing and telecommunications sectors, we have Zodiac, Air Liquide, Thalès, Alston, Areva, and the most recent arrival, Bouygues. Lafarge has been present for more than 50 years…Other example: Dalkia and Fengate Capital Management Ltd., a Canadian firm, are working to develop one of the largest biomass plants in Canada, which will be developed, constructed, and operated in Fort Saint James.

  • Dalkia to design and operate one of Canada’s largest biomass plants

    Dalkia and Canadian fund Fengate Capital Management Ltd. will develop one of Canada’s largest biomass plants which will be designed, built and operated by Dalkia in Fort St. James, British Columbia.

    Dalkia and Fengate Capital Management Ltd. have closed the financing for this state of the art biomass plant. Under this DFBOM (Design, Finance, Build, Operate and Maintain) contract, Dalkia will operate and maintain the facilities and manage the wood biomass supply and preparation.

  • Visit by Senate President Jean-Pierre Bel to BC: August 23–24, 2013

    Jean-Pierre Bel, President of the French Senate, accompanied by Philippe Zeller, Ambassador of France to Canada, and Jean-Marc Todeschini, Senator for La Moselle, conducted an official visit to British Columbia on August 23rd and 24th, 2013. They met with Bill Bennett, British Columbia Minister for Energy and Mines. Over the course of this meeting, M. Bel and Minister Bennett discussed such issues as France-British Columbia trade and the development of the mountain and ski industry in the province.
